Jessica Strickland, a native of Yorktown, Virginia, joined The Lee Group in 2017 and serves as a Staffing Manager in the firm’s Newport News branch.

As a Staffing Manager, I work to closely with businesses in the area to provide them with their ideal candidates,” Jessica said. “I recruit and interview potential candidates, ensuring that we match them with positions that they will thrive in long term.

Jessica prides herself and her team on working with both the client (the company doing the hiring) and the candidate through every step of the employment and staffing process – from scheduling interviews to offers, and then continuing to provide assistance throughout the life of the contract.

“When you hire the right person for the job it can sometimes feel like putting in the last piece of a puzzle, suddenly the picture is clear and everything makes sense.”

For Jessica, the work The Lee Group performs makes a difference in the lives of the people it serves because the people at the firm “take the time to listen and consider the needs of our clients and candidates. When you work with The Lee Group you can really feel how much we care about finding the right fit for everyone. It’s the attention to detail and compassion that we all have as a whole that I believe sets us apart.”

Working in the staffing industry – up close and personal with companies who need the right team members to grow and employees who need the right jobs to live – give Jessica the opportunity to see the impact The Lee Group can make on people on a daily basis.

“A moment that sticks out to me was with a man that I placed in an industrial position,” Jessica said. “He had clearly been struggling to find work for quite some time and I could see the desperation on his face as he sat in my office.”

Jessica was able to place him in a great job.

“He called me a few weeks later and told me that before he came to The Lee Group he was almost evicted from his apartment, but because we were able to find him that position he was able to pay his rent and stay in his home,” Jessica said. “That’s a moment I can’t forget.”

When Jessica isn’t at the office, you can find her spending downtime with her children, traveling or at a live music event.
