Anita Bloxom joined The Lee Group as Branch Manager of its Newport News location.

The Lee Group is recognized as the leading provider of staffing services in Eastern and Central Virginia, employing hundreds of associates every day.

In her role, Bloxom focuses on aligning clerical and industrial candidates with employers to create the best match for both.

“I really enjoy changing people’s lives by finding them jobs and helping them build careers,” Bloxom said. “One of my favorite things about my job is celebrating the success stories of clients.”

Prior to becoming part of The Lee Group in December 2020, Bloxom had a career at Target Stores that spanned two decades. For the last five years, she was an Executive Team Leader for Human Resources, managing all aspects of recruiting, staffing, onboarding, scheduling, training and development for a department of more than 100 employees.

Bloxom’s additional experience at Target includes executive positions on the sales floor, logistics and team relations. She worked in retail while taking classes at Christopher Newport University.

Seeking a new opportunity last fall, she browsed postings on The Lee Group website and spotted its in-house position for Branch Manager. During the course of her interview, Lee Group Vice President of Operations Sarah Fulton pegged Bloxom as an ideal fit.

“It all worked out perfectly,” Bloxom said. “I’m actually working with some of the industrial folks I used to have a lot of contact with when I worked at Target.”

The Newport News native enjoys spending time at music and wine festivals with a tight circle of friends. She’s a buff of independent films, though she can quote from her favorite movie of all time, “Jaws.”
