We are in search of an Assembly Department Contract Maintenance Technician for a position available in Virginia Beach.
The Maintenance Technician will support an assembly and sub assembly department’s maintenance teams and production lines with the repair, up keep and general maintenance of various manual & semi-automated production assembly equipment through the use of standard electro mechanical maintenance skills.
Specific competent skill sets needed include the following:
• Perform safe work practices such as lock out tag out around industrial equipment
• Ability to replace, align and trouble shoot basic mechanical assemblies
• Understanding and replacement of proximity sensors such as Ferrous & Magnetic
• Understanding and replacement of optical part present sensors such as Laser, IR, LED
• Troubleshoot basic low voltage DC circuits (12 – 24VDC)
• Ability to read and understand basic electrical schematics
• Ability to read and understand basic pneumatic schematics
• Ability to read and understand basic mechanical schematics
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Hands on tool skills such as multi meters, drill / tap, wrenches, screw drivers, soldering, wiring, pneumatics
• Good all round computer keyboard skills
Day to day tasks will range from basic equipment break down repairs to routine equipment maintenance such as lube, filter changes, replacement of electro mechanical components.
Tasks and responsibilities will also include:
• Respond to equipment breakdowns via notification system or as directed by the shift lead
• Diagnose basic equipment problem(s)
• Provide solution to identified problem(s) that can include electrical, pneumatic and mechanical systems
Candidate will be expected to complete work orders in a timely manner, successfully repair broken equipment in a timely manner, complete repairs to customers satisfaction without the need for repeat calls back for the same issue(s), follow through and completion of assigned tasks from team lead and complete all relevant documentation relative to work performed.
