Completing a free, four-week, in-person training program is all that stands between you and a good-paying job in manufacturing.

The Lee Group, a leading staffing agency in the Hampton Roads region, and its partner Generation USA invite job seekers and those interested in career growth to sign up to learn to be an Assembly Specialist. Classes begin on Nov. 29 at Tidewater Community College’s Skilled Trades Center in Portsmouth.

Training is held on weekdays between 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Assembly specialists perform tasks to build products in a high volume manufacturing environment. Comfortable with manual work in an industrial setting and enjoy a structured schedule? This program could lead to immediate employment.

Training sessions will mimic working conditions and rotate learners through various dexterity drills. There are no written exams. In addition to the technical skills, participants will learn how to overcome any challenges you face on the job and how to develop a growth mindset for advancement opportunities. Participants interview with Virginia’s top manufacturers, STIHL and IMS Gear, with the possibility of full-time employment to follow. These jobs pay up to $16 per hour dependent on shift and include benefit and vacation/holiday pay.

This accelerated training is designed to get graduates promoted fast and provide participants with meaningful resources, such as career coaching, life coaching and overall assistance to ensure career success.
